You all have gorgeous silkies. They are so sweet aren't they?

All my three laid today which they have never done- I was so happy.

I will post some pics of my babies: Jacky, Nancy and Bridget when I get some time. Just disinfecting feeders ready to begin a week of worming. Just wish this Avian Flu lockdown would end.

Keep posting your gorgeous pics please.

Are up saying that this is her coloring ... not something she sat in? What? I wasn't sure..lol..she sure looks fine to me. Bet she thinks she looks fine too. Pretty girl!!

She's got a mixture of color. Someone else was asking about mixing colors. Do your own thing. If you just want pets, you can mix colors. If you want to show, or sell, then for show, color is important, for selling..the demand is usually a particular color that someone is looking for. Like I said, some don't mind, if for pets, they will just fall in love with the fluff and .. ahem, usually sweet demeanor.

yes her coloring of her tail and under tail look light purple I didn't know if that was a color

Why is my brown chickens but purple???

Partridge Silkies are a beautiful colorful variety. The purple glint on your girl's tail feathers may be what color is showing in the light. My Partridge girl always looks different to me depending on a cloudy or sunny or rainy day. Partridge have gold, blue, black feathers in an array of hues and patterns. The purple you speak of is probably a collection of deep blue and maybe a smattering of some black feathers. From my understanding, blue is a diluted black.

The following photos are all the same Partridge Silkie - depending on light or weather conditions, her body looks different to me every time I look at her and so does her coloring.
