Silkie thread!

He looks Silver partridge... with better black that you see on many partridges, especially silvers.

However, is there mahogany red showing in the tips of his neck hackles?

Anyway, You could just send him to my house... I have two lovely hens that might like to meet him. I know I would sure like them to! LOL

I'm ever on the search for lovely moorheads. I got two silver partridge hens sort of by accident when getting some standard red partridges, and I just love them!

I had 2 adorable little silver partridge pullets that I just didn't know what to do with so I gave them to a friend. lol and then he came along.... Are you making a road trip to WI anytime soon? He's all yours, I'm downsizing. (Or so I tell my husband). Unfortunately I can't ship him, I'm not certified. Here's a few more angles. He's just a really cool boy, but I'm not sure how I'd use him.

Do any of you happen to have any particularly large silkies? I saw a thread from a while ago, I have no idea if the guy ever imported any from Australia. Alternatively do you have any Silkie x large fowl Cornish or Silkie x large fowl?

As much as I would LOVE to have him, WI is quite a drive from FL. =(

I had some sort of mutation pop up in a cockerel last year. He's just over 4 pounds. I'm currently running an experiment with him over a few hens. I want to know if he passes the size along. One of his chicks from my new years hatch has been noticeably larger than the others since it was a week old.

One of my weird colored birds that are hard to sex. I thought this was a cockerel, but it's looking more like a pullet now.

I remember the photo of your big guy. Have you a photo of his large offspring chick next to its hatchmates?
