Silkie thread!

I absolutely love these girls. I am so sickened though that came to me neglected and in such rough shape. I have the story of them (from when I got them till now, and updating every few days) on here as an article.

Hen 1 (Pandora): She came to me with live and missing a few feathers from over breeding.

Hen 2 (Beauty): Came to me with Lice, missing feathers, and massive scarring and a bad wound from over breeding by a bad rooster. I haven't posted photos of her wound here as they are graphic and I know some people may not wish to see them. If you wish to read about my girls and what they are going through you can read about it here.

Is it easy to tell male from female a.d at what age , I have some that are a month old

Seriously, I'm not trying to be funny -- but it's hard to tell on some Silkies until they either crow or lay an egg. The easiest Silkie variety to differentiate sexes is the Partridge because the cockerels get colorful and shiny earlier compared to the duller pullets. Colors other than Partridge are not so easy.

Partridge pullet and cockerel from the same hatch - approx 6 mo's old here - the boys are so much more colorful and get colorful tail and head streamers while the pullets are plainer.

Colorful Partridge male while the Partridge pullet (in middle) is not as deeply colorful.
