Silkie thread!

I think I created a monster! Divine is definitely imprinted on humans and thinks I'm the mother hen. Now when I open her cage door, she comes running. At night when she notices I'm getting ready to go to bed, she YELLS and YELLS and tries to get at me through the bars when I walk past her cage. If I take her out, she calms down - a bit. She's fine during the day.

Today I brought her out and sat with her on the couch. She marched right up my chest and settled on my shoulder, preening herself to sleep. She also left me a present, but that's why I was wearing a ratty old tshirt.

Could some of you silkie experts tell me what color my rooster is? He is on the left and a separate picture of him below. I hatched these eggs from a show breeder out of NY. He looks like he has horns on his head because of the white in his "poof" on his head. I believe the white one is a paint and the black is just a black?? Thank you for any info - I just adore these three - they are just the sweetest!!

He is probably a black split to paint and that is silver leakage coming thru. Silver leakage is a good thing if your gonna breed him to the paint hen cause offspring will have more bolder black spots and the silver will help eliminate red leakage which is common in paints. The black hen is solid black but she may be from paint breeding which would make her a black split to paint.

Wow! Thank you - very interesting. Someone had told me "tortoise shell" but I didn't find much on that. Is that a real color? I've noticed in the sunshine he has some really iridescent green in his tail feathers.... Thank you again for the info. I'd like to breed them but just for their sweet personalities. I have never shown chickens (just horses). I have a young son and he adores them. He can carry them around (supervised) so gently and they don't seem to mind.:love
