Anyone looking for a Blue Silkie ?

We wanted to post on this Silkie thread to see if anyone on here was looking for some Silkies.

We did get some black and splash Silkie chicks from crossing 2 Blue Silkies (3 black, 7 splash). We will plan on breeding these 2 colors next Spring. We did hatch mostly Blues.

Out of our 30 or so chickies, we did find 3 with vaulted skulls (1 splash, 2 black). The Splash one with the vaulted skull turned out to have so much fluff on top of her head (you can't even see her eyes -- I wonder how she can see ? But she is so adorable !)

Among the Blue Silkies, there are about 3 shades of gray (light gray, medium gray, dark gray/almost black/like a charcoal gray color).

Silkies have the cutest tails - a big ball of fluff.

My new babies! 15 hatched, one didn't survive, 3 didn't pip and are still in the bator.

The third photo was marked black. Do you think it might be blue?

Cuteness!! I had two born similar to your third pic. Mine were marked Black and the other Blue. The one that looks like yours turned out Black. The other one had a blue bottom/vent area, and it is now Blue, albeit a very dark blue. Seems if their butts are white/cream colored when hatched, they will be black. If they are blue, then they turn out blue. That's just what I found with my TWO!

Not lots of experience here, so maybe others will chime in...

Hi all now that my Silkies are older I will post some new pics of them, my dad was nice enough to hold each one for me, please tell me if I get their colors wrong I am still not sure about Silkie colors thanks

This is Ms. Pac-man my Partridge pullet I think she is so pretty

Here is Inky a cockerel he could be a blue x partridge cross or maybe just a blue, does anyone know for sure?

Pinky I am still trying to figure out if this one is a he or a she, I really hope it is a pullet though, may also be a blue x partridge cross I’m not sure, what do you all think?

This is Blinky, a black cockerel he is such a big softy

And last but not least is Sue my blue pullet

Oh and by the way all the cockerels are for sale so if any one wants a young Silkie roo for cheap (maybe even free) and you live close by PM me ok thanks

Thanks, did I get all the colors right? Do you think that Inky and Pinky are just blue or a mix blue x partridge?
