Silkie thread!

I just wanted to share my gift from my hubby yesterday. I have always wanted them and have hatched a couple but these are 1 & 2 years old and two of them are setting on 8 and 10 eggs. They never left the nest of eggs even when we moved them. I was so surprised. I am so eggsited.

ChooksChick lives in Larry, KS. She might be able to help you out. I'm not sure where the two towns are in relationship to each other.

yeah, I know her from my Kansas thread- she isn't too far from me. I haven't seen her on in a while. I didn't know she has silkies! I'll ask her, thanks!

It would be great if a BYC member with fantastic Silkies lives near you. Failing that, Silkies on Craigs List aren't automatically disease ridden. I sold a young pair last weekend on Craigs List. Just be careful and ask questions and pay attention to the sellers attention to cleanliness and the conditions in which they keep their birds.

I sell my silkies on CL all the time. I have met some wonderful people on there and it's unfair to judge buyer's and seller's on there. Just look at the quality, living conditions, and ask plenty of questions. There are a lot of people breeding them, but have no idea about quality. Do your research and dont rule out CL, just see what is being offered.
