Its about $100. Chicken Colours, Silkies and Silkie Bantams. I am just a bit leery for that price when I haven't seen it. I don't mind the price if I know I'm getting what I paid for, paper quality and writing quality. I've bought too many $300 textbooks lately that literally fall apart at the seams the second week you own it.

WELL worth the price. Think of it as being textbook quality (which often run 2-3X higher) with literally hundreds of colour photos. There are actually two books, each $100: Genetics of Chicken Colours and Silkies and Silkie Bantams. Pretty sure the first is sold out. I've had the first since the English version came out and read through and referenced it many, many dozens of times. The silkie book less so because it is newer. Binding and paper quality is excellent. This is a book that will last years and years without ripping apart.

The only problem with the writing quality is that English is not Sigi's native tongue, so some of the phrasing is a bit unusual. Easy to understand, though, and very thorough.

Yea or by posting pics on here and asking. Doesn't seem worth it.

The description said simple crosses were explained but no list of which ones that I saw. I like it here because I can hear all the options and decide for myself what is the better route to take and later I can pass the info on to someone else in need.

My thoughts exactly!!! There are sooo many people on here with so much knowledge!

I've had 2 breeders tell me it isn't worth the money, its nothing you can't find out online on plenty of reliable sites.

Post here or in many places and you will get some people answering that know their stuff and others who do not. Genetics of Chicken Colours is VERY well researched and presented in a manner that makes understanding a complicated subject much simpler. Silkies and Silkie Bantams contains a great deal of historical information that is NOT available online.
