Matthew, I am hatching some out and should be due 1 Nov or maybe 31 of October. You would be welcome to come and see what hatches out. I am in Virginia too. My other suggestion is if you do not want to wait it out, check craigslist. I have had to travel up to Maryland to get some silkies, but it is so worth it!

Hey, where in VA are you two located in? It's always good to know who the local silkie people are. I'm in Manassas.

Not sure if you got my last post. I am in Fredericksburg, so not that far away. Would love to catch up sometime! Message if you would like to do the same sometime!

I finally have some silkie pics to post

I think they had fun running around and pooping on my quilts lol.
I love this little guy although he already needs a bath! He came from a buff silkie egg from 'Tater' (one of Bobbi Portos) so I named him Tater Tot. He really looks like one lol.

Partridge Silkies (I think) The two best colored ones kept hiding in the back of the photo grrr. Those two have chipmunk stripes on thier backs. One of them has lots of red in him but it isn't showing that much in the photo.

partridge is a different color/ pattern but I don't have any

somebody else asked about breeding hatchery to breeder quality birds. It depends on what the hatchery bird is lacking or what is wrong with it. different problems take longer to breed out. It can take several years. If you calculate the feed and meds you spend on poor quality birds vs buying good stock to start with it is cheaper to get good. Bobbi Porto of indigo egg sells some very nice birds for a reasonable amount or you can bid on eggs from some good breeders.

what do ya all think of my new babies? I bought them off eggbid.net from a breeder, I do have another one almost identical to them as well.

are they going to be SQ?
