The post which you are tagging was from 8 months ago. I didn't read where anyone was putting you down. Someone from you area in Michigan was asking how to get ahold of you and also what kind of quality birds you produce. I think that is a good thing to get references and such before spending the money and time in purchasing and raising silkies. And the only responses were good. I think you may be a bit paranoid and feisty in this response. Especially when it was 8 months ago.I am curious, why the negative discussion? I raise beautiful, NPIP silkies, in 14 colors. Seven standard and 7 AOV. I have also small breeding flocks of sizzles, frizzled, and naked necks also in separate barns.I have dear Claude McAllister's sizzles and frizzles/Seven Oaks Game Farm. He passed away from ALS. Claude to rehome all of his goregous birds when he became ill, before ALS killed him. I've bred silkies seriously for 20 years, breeding beautiful silkies to the standard is my passion. I sponsor cash awards for youth, used to pay for the ribbons until cash was preferred, easier for our MI club. Youth are our future of our fancy, and I put my money where my mouth is, not just into my silkies. Bill Bowman I used to work together with serious, low income youth, and presented these youth with a free mentoring show silkie or two. Many silkies that have went on to win BB and RF. I sell my silkies reasonably which is a thorn in the side of several breeders. I'd like to know what your problem is, that my name is being freely disparaged. I sell eggs once in awhile and am doing so right now. I do not sell new-hatched or young chicks. I do sell my extras when I have them. If my silkies are pet quality or breeder quality, they are truthfully labeled so. So what is going on? Would you please share with me? I'd be suspect of people who put another breeder down, especially when the breeder spoken of raises gorgeous silkies. cathryntherese rainbowsilkies TM Michigan [email protected]
Although, I had a hen that always stood like that from when she hatched to adulthood LOL. I thoguth she was a HE for the longest time because of the stance. crazy chicken. poor thing got eaten by a raccoonIt doesn't have a very big comb, but it holds its chest up high like a cockerel.
Yes. That's what jumped out at me too was that macho stance. I have never had a chick like this but those are chunky legs and good sized feet if it's a pullet. The face just says "boy" to me. But hey! I've got a 50/50 chance at my guess either way! Hah!It doesn't have a very big comb, but it holds its chest up high like a cockerel.
I posted the results on the NCK thread, but here they are as well.Yes. That's what jumped out at me too was that macho stance.
