I have the most terrible news I can ever imagine typing here...

My barn..

My birds.

My Clementine.

All gone...

The barn caught fire and nothing is left. I don't even know.. I don't know what to say. My heart is broken.

Clementine was my livestock guardian dog. I was home. It happened in the middle of the night. I was up getting a snack at 11:30 and all was fine. Then I was woken up by my FIL. The barn was already in full flames.

It is surreal. I just got finished separating all the birds for breeding season. It is a huge set back and is very heartbreaking. We also lost two sheep. Anything living in the barn is not living any more.

We are highly insured for the barn, but the livestock are not covered. We will rebuild, but to replace all those birds who were so much like pets is impossible.

Everyone go out and check your extension cords. Don't overload to try to keep waters from freezing. Make sure all your extension cords are heavy duty.

I'm thankful that all of my family is still alive.

Oh my god, I am so sorry! My heart is aching, it is devastating!!!!!!
Did you lose all your chickens? What about George?
And Clementine was so wonderful! I have no words to express how sad I feel for you and your family. It is unreal!

My friend gave me these cute babies, does anyone know what color they might end up? He has a whole lot of them I told him I wanted grey.... :/ I don't think they are grey!

They look grey to me. Here is a picture of one of my grey chicks.

Aoxa - I know you put a lot of time and love into your birds. At least they had a great life while they were alive. I'm sorry for your loss.

Oh aoxa, I'm so sorry! I can't imagine how you must be feeling right now If you want some b/b/s eggs after you rebuild, I'd be more than happy to send you some.

I'm devastated. Fox attack. He killed one of my silkie pullets. :'( And my BR is missing. I'm sure the fox killed her, to. I'm pretty sure a fox killed 'em. :'(
