This is my 4 mo silkie. Can you all tell if she is a hen or rooster? I cant keep roosters so im hoping shes a hen. I love her! Also does anyone have show quality hens for sale

My friend gave me these cute babies, does anyone know what color they might end up? He has a whole lot of them I told him I wanted grey.... :/ I don't think they are grey!
Those are grey, if not some possibly partridge

Another picture of her. Her name is kitty, shes so sweet!!
too young to tell for sure, but unfortunately it looks a bit boyish =/ You could try keeping it in your house if it ends up being a rooster? I own a rooster, and it is illegal to own them in my town. I also rent so I have been super cautious. I keep him locked in the coop all morning until about 10am so his crows are muffled. I don't know what i'm going to do come spring though, you would still be able to hear him if the window is open, just not when it is closed. But I know a lot of people bring their roosters inside in the morning until they finish crowing.

My roosters crow all day long

They seem to be clustered in the morning, at noon, and in the evening just before roosting time. I've even heard crows at 10 and 11 at night when our motion lights come on

i would think with just one it wouldn't be so bad, more would set each other off (like at the show I went to, he was crowing all day because everyone else was). My boy will crow from 6:30 until 9, and then stop for the rest of the day unless he feels especially restless or if he jumps my hen

then it's only 3 or 4 crows and he's done.

Whatever they are, they're cute. I bet you'll get some greys. Great picture too! I love the colors.

I bet Toulouse is quiet because he's the only guy in the house.

He doesn't have to compete with anyone. We have 7 roosters on the farm and they go at it all day long.

My silkies and the cochin cockerel are pretty much done after their morning crows and they're quiet for the rest of the day but the LF guys...forget it! lol

I've heard my boys crow in the middle of the night too. lol Couple of times I heard them in the summer time, I went outside in the dark to check on our horses. I'm wondering if I woke the roosters up and they one or two of them felt like they needed to crow. In the winter time it happenes more often because they have a heatlamp.
