thats what i was thinking but what if i need to incubate stat

Make friends with peeps close by that have them and can set for you if needed. That is what I have done. I have ready access to 3 peeps incubators, all within 20min drive

Hey yall i have a dilema i have never hatched eggs in a bator and always let my hens do the job i really want to hatch some out or at least have a bator on hand so if i need it what do yall think should i spend the money or let the hens do it?

I would rather have my hens hatch eggs, hands down. They're the perfect, natural incubator, and I usually have 100% hatch with hens. Incubators are convenient for hatches you want to plan, but so many things can go wrong, power outage, wrong humidity, etc. I've used my incubator twice in the past 5 years. I let my oegb (and now, my silkies) hatch all other chicks.

thanx yall i have a batch in my friends bator so i think im just gonna stick to what o already do i would really like the expireience of hatching some of my own but right now i just dont have the time thanx again yall

My Silkie layed her first egg yesterday!!!!!!!!!! She is 5-6 months old.
Her egg Is in the middle.

My little silkie, Snow, is sitting on 5 eggs. All are due to hatch tomorrow or Wednesday!! Along with the eggs in the incubator. This is the hard part about hatching eggs....the waiting.

No more chicks in the house! My silkie readily accepted the chicks. And I got to see the third chick, a blondie! awww!
