Silkie thread!

So I have taken Buck("special needs" Catdance boy) into the front yard on the grass the last 2 days, first time on it. He just stands there and wont move. It's kinda funny. My other flocks have never been in the front yard and since he is in quarantine it is ok for him to be out there. But he is so stinking sweet and loves to be petted and held. We trimmed his feathers around his eyes too so he can see better. Gonna start building the Silkie Pen when I get up today.

I still haven't gotten any photos of my little guy w/ wry neck,

but he was a little worse last night, Sunday when I got home he was looking at his bowtie, last night he was looking at his crop/belly, I got some of the Poly vi sol, and started giving it to him, I hope my DH will give him a dose this morning like I asked since I woke up late... I wish I could bring him to work to care and look after him... I need to work closer to home.

I also started to ferment some feed! When I stirred it this morning it smelled like the pizza crust I make from scratch! It smelled so good, I wanted to try a bite! My husband was watching while I was mixing it up, he thought I was crazy. I added the oregano, garlic and cayenne pepper as well as a "glug" of ACV w/ mother, am I doing this right? How soupy should it be? I think I may need to add more water to it tonight since it seems to have soaked up all the water that was on top when I left it last night...

Hey guys, I was wanting to know if I should get rid of these guys or keep them as I am looking for show quality silkies. I have 3 10 week old babies, one pullet and two cockerals.

My partridge pullet seems to be my best bet as she looks the best out of my boys. The only thing is her fifth toe is WAY longer than her 4th. She has few hard feathers in her wings and a nice full crest for being beardless.

My calico cockeral is a real nice specimen but I've been told that the calico color isn't a recongnised color. And he has a straight comb (pea version though). His leg feathering is awsome and he only has a few hard feathers in his wings and a nice sized crest as well for being beardless. His middle toes are missing their toe nail though?

Last is my white cockeral he's the one I doubt would be show quality. He has poor leg feathering and a small crest. He has a nice colored walnut comb and excellent feet. And very few hard feathers.

What do you guys think? Still too young to tell?

Photos always help!

These are dresses for dogs

XS fits them perfectly! As for saddles, they don't seem to mind them, I think a turkey would be fine with them. But I don't know if they make saddles large enough so I would look into XL dog dresses with the large arm holes like these ones, they may fit much better!
What a great idea! Thank you for sharing

They are all cute , but if you really want to show you should probably start off with some show stock but that is sometimes expensive. You already pointed out problems with each that would make them less than desirable for show purposes.

Try and decide just what you want.. bearded-non bearded , color and find a local show breeder to get a few chicks from and grow out few nice chicks with show potential.
