Silkie thread!

I was wondering if anyone had any spraddle experience. I have a splash chick that is almost 3 weeks old. we have been trying different measures to attempt to correct his issue, now only one leg stocks out to the side. He is currently on coffee mug and rubber band therapy. He eats and drinks fine and scuttles aboutusig his wing occasionally as a brace. Has anyone successfully kept a spraddle chick as a house chicken? I love my little Truman. :) will he always be able to get around well? Is there an apparatus I can get for him.to make his life easier? Would a large dog kennel in the house and supervised outside time work?

Hey everyone I bought a silkie yesterday (she's 6 weeks old) and introduced her to my other chicks (who are 3 weeks old). She became an instant bully. She would chase them and peck at them really hard. I thought silkies were supposed to be sweet and tender. Can anyone give me any advice about her? Should I relocate her to a different home? I want her to be happy with the chicks, she really is a sweetheart to me.
When I introduce chicks of different sizes or in general.. I rub them together esp butt to face.and butt on the new chcks body (the glands)... to give the new chick the same smell. Makes them more acceptable. Not sure if this works in your case as t the new chick is the bully.. maybe rub her smell on them?? I also have in the past made a temp divider in the brooder to keep them seperated but still together.

Hello from a newbie and these are my first silkie and I hatched.

I hatched three and was wondering your opinions on sexes? They are 13 weeks old today along with the buff brahmas in the one pic.

Here are the first two. One white that I think is female as her fluff on her head is pretty round. And also she just carries herself different than the other two.

Second one is a ??? color when a chick he was brownish with stripes on its back and the back of its head and I felt he was going to be a partridge. He looks more blue but does have a little browns on his back?

Same two

This is the three together the middle is the third and is shaped like the dark one and fluff on his head is sort of spikey like the dark one.

I would appreciate any opinions on sex and color of the blue one? They were suppose to be from SQ line.

I would like to get more but cannot get a hold of the guy I got them from.
Thanks, Herman

Can chicks get hemorrhoids?   The smaller of the two paint checks I got last weekend has been getting pasty butt.  I've been checking her at least x2 each day and gently cleaning her when needed.  This morning when I cleaned her I saw that she had a big "bump" like something was pushing from the inside of her vent. After cleaning her up I could see her vent moving and contracting but nothing came out.  I massaged it.  It doesn't look like anything is stuck inside but I'm worried about her.  The area I could see is all red.    I checked on her just now (about 1.5 hours have passes). The bump has gone down but not gone altogether.  She's acting a little lethargic.  Should I do anything else other than keep a close eye on her?

When one of mine got pasty butt I rubbed olive oil on the vent. Seemed to help quite well. Could be red from irritation.
