Silkie thread!

In quail we use a shot glass. It has to be done rather quickly after hatch. I attatch a bandaid to hold the legs in proper position and plunk them into a shot glass it works pretty well. A juice glass will often work with chickens

I was wondering if anyone had any spraddle experience. I have a splash chick that is almost 3 weeks old. we have been trying different measures to attempt to correct his issue, now only one leg stocks out to the side. He is currently on coffee mug and rubber band therapy. He eats and drinks fine and scuttles aboutusig his wing occasionally as a brace. Has anyone successfully kept a spraddle chick as a house chicken? I love my little Truman.

will he always be able to get around well? Is there an apparatus I can get for him.to make his life easier? Would a large dog kennel in the house and supervised outside time work?
3 weeks seems pretty old to be able to correct it, but yes you should be able to keep him in the house just fine =) You could always try to make him a little cart if he can't walk well, like the wheel chairs they have for dogs. That way he can go outside for forage time and be able to walk around and peck the ground like a normal chicken.
Can you keep two silkie
Bantam roosters in one pen?
If they get along, sure!

I really think it depends on the roos. I have A Silkie Roo and Bantam Cochin roo in the same pen. I have had two Silkie roos successfully in the same pen as well.

I thinki will try to fashion him a Carr that he could push along with his one food. Maybe my husband will be of more use in the technical application of it :) he is a sweetie and I have tried everything with no improvement in his left leg. House peep.he is!
