Silkie thread!

Can't find the poly vi sol anywhere and Bi-mart told me I need a prescription for it?
You know that I tried a couple of different WalMarts and Stop&Shops, and haven't found one yet.

Even checked the vitamin aisle.
Where did you end up finding yours?

okie dokie, Thank you, K Epp, for being nice about it. She's still my baby and I wouldn't trade her, she's such a great chick. She kind of has a little fuzz on her head, could she still maybe get her hair? She looks like a little vulture right now, she's still getting in her adult feathers
.
my grandmothers Black Giant chick got curious d:

How old is your chick? Probably won't get much fluff on the head, but it doesn't really matter for a pet chicken.

We have one pet hen, white like yours. Not very impressive looking at all but she's the BEST broody in the whole flock!

Great mom too. She's hatched most of our eggs for the last 2 years. lol I wouldn't let this hen go for a million dollars.

Hiya. Added a new Silkie boy to the flock. Blue cockerel, about 6 months old- so cute. His first owner called him "Mister Mister", will probably stay "Mr. Mr.) :) He's a sweetheart.

Hope I get one that looks like this guy out of the eggs I have in my incubator.

I GOT MY SILKIES TODAY!!!!! Just had to put that out there. hehe

She looks just like my first Silkie, Mini Me! lol

My new baby has booties now too =P She has bumblefoot.

Poor little thing. Love the boots. lol Hope you can fix her feet alright.

Okay... I really don't know how I am related to my family! Just found out, via facebook, my aunt brought her 6 year old son to the ER and is waiting there now... to remove a tick from his head!

Some of my babies, I'm hoping for a pair. They are only 5 weeks old but the silver partridge has a pretty big comb already and the other one is still very smooth. What so you guys think?

Hello friends,

I have a Silkie rooster who is a little over a year old...

ever since he reached sexual maturity and started breeding with the other hens I have noticed an odd smell to him/the girls... it is not a bad smell.. kind of like a slight sweet musky scent..

Has anyone else ever experienced something like this? I keep the Silkie coop very clean and everyone is healthy, it's just odd! Maybe George just has his own special musk?!

thank you!

Put another 24 Catdance eggs in the bator eight days ago.. Just candled them tonight.... I just threw out 13.. 13! What did I do wrong??

I eggtopsied them all and about 4 had blood rings the rest never developed or were not fertile. Dude, 8 days in and already less then half. Wah! Oh and I drove to the show and picked them up myself. I'm all oh yeah this is going to be the best hatch EVER. I can't wait until my chickens are grown and will sit on them for me. Just venting a little.

One of my broody silkie hen's turkey eggs are hatching! Two poults are out so far, the other 2 are pipping :) I'll post some pics tomorrow when they dry off. I have another hen with 4 poults who are a week old, and the actual turkey hen is broody on 15 eggs (which are all fertile and growing!). I'm getting overrun with turkeys as well as chickens now!
