Hello, never posted on this thread before, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me what colors these silkie chicks are going to be. And even possible sex. I know they are probably way too young to sex, but they are getting some random colors. They are 4 weeks old, Mom was White, Dad was a Blue Splash. Got them from someone local.

#1 The smallest of the bunch, I'm sure this one is a Partridge

#4, I think this is a Splash

Your flash is distorting the color. Can you get photos in natural light. Bottom one is likely blue. Too dark for splash.

My Splash Silkie pullet. She is about 5 months old. What do you guys think of her?
She is a pretty girl. It's pretty much impossible to evaluate from a single photo. Looks like she has very nice wings and foot feathering. Are you sure she is 5 mos? She does look younger as her tail has not filled in. She has her nect stretched out which can make her crest look smaller than it really is. Nice coloring.

Love my camera, I can remove all effects right on the image. So hopefully these are better. If not I can take them outside. They've never been outside, I bet they will love it. Making a small box coop inside the grow out run right now for them, so hopefully after this last rain storm we are getting tomorrow they can go outside during the day.

I just brought home the chicks that hatched out in my friend's incubator.. I tried to give them to my hen and pullet because they're sitting on eggs, but they wouldn't take them. Is there a special way to do it?

Also, the one that hatched out this morning, its toes are curled. is it because it hasn't been out long enough? or does it need some help?

Two of the chicks have pink beaks and feet and the other has black beak and toes. they all came from the same flock here and I'm confused?? All I can think of is the pink beak and toes are from the inbreeding and the other is from the other rooster? the one with black beak and toes looks like maybe a splash. the other two are blues.

I would tape those feet flat. Not sure about the skin color, but how long have the hen and pullet been sitting on the eggs? If it isn't the whole incubation period yes they will reject the babies. once the eggs hatch, or you take away the eggs at 21 days, then they should accept them.

ahh, ok that makes sense. then I'll wait until they hatch the ones they're sitting on, then I'll give them to them. I thought I read that broody hens would accept chicks no matter when. Oh well :)

how do I tape the feet again? I'm going to wait until the morning as it is still wet.
