Silkie thread!

Hi all, haven't posted on here in a while. 4 whites hatched under broodies this week. Of my 3 older chicks from an earlier hatch, one appears to be a cockerel

This makes the first one I've hatched from them. I've been cursed (blessed?) with pullets, I'm interested to see how he matures out.

My surprise silkie X oegb is feathering out to be a pretty bird. What color would this be considered? Partridge? Blue Partridge? The OEGB mother was gold/buff with black patterning. I'm assuming the blue/gray underfluff came from the silkie, I haven't had any sort of blue in my OEGB for years. S/he's a pretty baby nonetheless. Full of spunk. I let these out to freerange, and when a turkey came over to investigate and was bullying one of the silkies that was hatchmates with this little one, s/he raised up his/her tiny hackles and flew at the turkey. S/he doesn't even come up to the turkey's knees, but that doesn't intimidate him/her

Could be a white leaking buff. I've had one before that did that.
Is that a fault/ an undesirable characteristic?

Could it possibly poo or food? It appears to be the same color as the smudge on the white towel.
No, it's definitely the feather colour.

sounds like a dominant white will most likely come out as it gets in feathers
I suppose I will just have to wait and see!

Thanks for the replies.

What colour is your second bird? She looks rather like silver quail...from feathersite:

or https://sites.google.com/site/belgianbantamclub/thebarbuduccle near the end are some blue quails and some silver quails.

Well, I showed her as a gray. I think she is quite a bit lighter than the d' uccles though the pattern of her white belly and neck looks very similar. Her crest, wing tips and feet are darker - then a white neck with a dark collar and the softer gray across her back. She is 5 months old.

AND TO UPDATE. My sweet little silkie girl has both of her eyes open!!! They are not 100percent back to normal but she is 1000 times better than she was before. I was starting to worry if she ever did recover that she would be blind. Most people would have culled her about a week ago but I had a feeling she would make it in the end! I even took her to the vet.. You would have thought I brought in a baby alien when I walked in the door, but it was worth it to know my baby is getting better!! I just wanted to thank everyone for all of the suggestions y'all have given me, I couldn't of helped her without the help of the wonderful people on this forum!!!
:D I will post a picture in just a bit

So happy to hear that your little one is on the mend
