Has anyone hatched out a silkie with white skin on just the tips of its toes ?? One of my eggs I bought off ebay just hatched it has really black skin except for that ??

Last year I had a black chick hatch out with a few pink toes. They darkened up after a week or so :)

It's either a blue or a black with a lot of shiny reflection taht makes it look blue. Looks to be E based; the white and yellow will only last in juvenle feathering; by the time it is an adult it will be slid blue/black.

Cute little chick. Its coloring reminds me of my black cochins when they were babies. They're less than a week from four months old, look and like big girls now.

Oh anther just hatched looks just the same lol except this one is not vaulted on the head :-) two more eggs to go wonder what colors they will be lol

Any idea what Tiny is, Pullet or Cockerel? Got it as a "sibling" for a single hatch Orpington who turns out to be a Cockerel. They're 6wks, the breeder will take the Orpington back as I can't have a crowing rooster in my neighborhood. Being that they're young and only have each other, I'm keeping the Orpington until I can decide what to do with the Silkie. If it's a pullet I'd like to keep her but how do I keep her from being lonesome, get another?
