Sitting on my ring is a "first" egg from one of my Silky poulets.

I bought 5, day old Silkies last June. I wanted One male because all my Silkies are inter-related. 1 died-all the rest are Female! If I'd wanted females they all would have been boys!

That is just to true!

What color would you call the one on the right? I have her next to a white one.

BruceLee is about to be a Momma! Locked down yesterday, hatch date is Wednesday and just like Momma this chick is in a hurry. Pipped this morning and is pepping and chirping in its egg. I thought the daddy could only be the choc Orp Roo, but I caught her with the Cuckoo D'anver Roo yesterday.

Ok so I hatched out some eggs I got from a breeder. He gave me 14 buff and 2 cuckoo. 3 buff was clear not a big deal. Nor is it if these aint going to be buff as long as my son can show one when it gets older.

Here are some pics there are one or two I'm wondering about. One we call skunk and another that hatched today is alittle darker and hasn't fluffed out really yet.

In my experience skunk is a partridge. Albeit a light color. Cuckoo in other breeds have an autosex spot on their heads.

Definitely true! I needed all girls. .I got 3-4 boys one girl! Hatched 6 eggs, they all made it. .. yep, you guessed it several boys. They are so dog gone sweet and cute. The boys are so nice. Then we're all attached and in love....

I took a peek in the bator and I am glad that I did. Little miss hurry up is gonna have to wait. She has pecked out a large enough hole that I can see the membrane. The veins are still full of blood. Her nose is uncovered and she is getting air. I made her a tent with a damp paper towel and gave strict orders to not turn on the office light. I hope she takes a nap for a day or two.
