Did she slow down?

400

She is still in her shell. She is beginning to get antsy though.

5:13 pm. 36 hours like this now. I keep a damp paper towel over the exposed area. I am hoping that in another 6 to 12 hours she pops out. I hope she will be able to walk properly. The blood is congealed but I still think it looks to red and wet. Keeping my hands to myself is very hard but I know doing it on their own is best.

She was peeping at 3am and gone at 5. I opened the egg up and everything looked good. But the blood was still in the membrane. I wonder if she pipped trough the vein. Football shaped eggs can be a pain to hatch from. :(

I had to share my babies close ups with you all since you understand chick love.

Still looking for the right name for the first 2.... Thinking maybe Perry and Pope but still debating

Charlie Brown 2-
pepper-

This is Piper aka little bit.
I love that second one and the last one looks like you where getting the stink eye. He looks a little "miffed". lol The name Duke came to me when I saw the second one if that helps any. I have a loner chick that was the only one that hatched that needs a name I've been thinking on. Not all my silkies have a name. Sometimes they dont' get one till they're older. I just wait till their name comes to me or they earn one like Squeekers did. She is a chatty kathy for sure. She takes after her mother Moe as far as being verbal. I mixed a bantam WCB polish with Moe which is a blue non crested sizzle and the 2 I kept are both very verbal. One turned out black and one is splash. I had The colors I got from the pair where splash, blue and black. It was just a little project I wanted to try.

I've been trying to hatch out eggs from my paint pair and out of the past 2 months I've gotten 1 chick. They either die in lock down or sooner. I thnk the cold may have something to do with it. I brought in a broody hen and gave her 7 eggs. I hope she does a better job than I have. I've got 1 more egg that made it to lock down and due in a couple of days but I don't have any hope for it. I candled it and saw no movement the other eggs where quitters. Then I just put 5 more eggs in last night. She's broody now so no more eggs for a while. I may bring her and her mate in and let her sit on them instead of using the incubator.

Hello silkie fans, I have a dilemma. So I was trying to change the water out and my silkie ran right under it in time enough and got a splash of water over their body and now I've blowed dried em off and all, but now them feathers don't quite look so clean and fluffed as before. Any suggestions? The silkie is only two weeks old :(
