*YaY*Its a happy one I was hoping to have one black and one white roo
Awesome, thanks! I didnt know 1 week old chicks could have scrambled eggs? They are soo tiny it would have to be ground up pretty good lol. I guess I gave the two lethergic chicks the extra electrolites because thats what it called in the recipe but since I started putting Vit-al in their water to, i could just mix the poly-vi-sol and vit E together and give those in a couple drops to the weaker ones. Should I continue to add the selenium to it also? I'll get a lower watt bulb today also and see if that helps. It was kinda chilly lastnight and even with my high watt raised high, i was worrying all night that they were not warm enough lol when im sure they were fine if you guys are saying my bulb is way to warm. I never thought of this but if they are too warm, would that mean that they would not be growing feathers as fast as they should? I dont know if my chicks look how they should at a week old or not Some have more feather growth on their wings then others and some are noticably growing larger bodies then the others. The smallest one is the lil blue one that doesent want to walk around. Im happy to see him still eating/drinking this morning but he's still down alot and only walks to get to where he wants then lays back down.
What kind of feed should be given?
Ya, i'll take a pic of him. I hope it's not splay legI would give the wry neck chick selenium. Can you post some pics of the one that can't walk? Could be splayed leg. What do his toes look like?
How old are your chickens? Scrambled egg with a dollop of plain yoghurt is always a good ' pick me up. I feed mine sardines in oil with raw egg stirred through cooked rice or pasta once a week as a treat. Even a tin of cat food makes a good treat. Cooked rice with a couple of raw eggs stirred through would be a good start.
