Silkie thread!

My daughter picked out a chick for the "banty" chicks bin at Del's. She picked him/her because it was the only one that looked the way it did. I posted pic's asking what type and all replies said a white silkie. I noticed that his/her wings are coming in and I'm worried we are doing something wrong. I searched for pictures of what the wing feathers look like when they are first coming in but couldn't find any. He/She is very active and although runs when you try to pick him/her up doesn't cheep in distress once in your hands. They are fed a medicated starter/grower feed and have some ACV with "mother" in the water. First day Yesterday
Looks like a normal growing silkie wing to me ;) Keep up the good work!

Thanks, I was worried. We are new to chickens (I had them as a kid) so wasn't sure if that was normal or not.

I wanted to share this stuff for all you guys having issues. I had to assist hatch a breech chick who started shrinkwrapping a few weeks back. Naturally she was weaker than the other chicks. She started having respiratory symptoms, gasping for air the whole 9. I was freaking out. I isolated her and would spray two sprays of this in her water. Within days she was better and back to normal. I don't know what she had, but this seemed to help. For wounds, ill use betadine on the wound then follow with this stuff. I've used this on all my pets and always had good results. I'm not a vet, just sharing what has worked for me :)

That actually makes sense. Chelated silver is used by a lot of people for various medical reasons.

That actually makes sense. It's just chelated silver and distilled water.

Yes. I have been very impressed with this stuff. Recently one of our sugargliders had developed a little abscess on his cheek. I took him to the vet, they lanced it and drained it, put him on bactrim. After his antibiotics were done, the abscess came back. I started using this stuff on it and it went away, and has yet to return! Love this stuff.

I know that colloidal silver can accumulate in the body to unhealthy levels but not sure if the same is true of chelated silver.

Yeah, I had read that too. Apparently people turn blue from taking the colloidal silver o.o
The chelated I've read is safer for oral use. I did two sprays (mist) in her water for about five days. She pulled through and is totally good now. I'm not sure what was going on, she was gasping for air and had crackles breathing, no runny nose or eyes though. I'm wondering it she just had weak immune system and weak lungs from an assist hatch. She's just as perky, active, and growing as the rest of them now :D
