I am really glad I posted the pic of the 2 on my shoulder. Without all of the help, advice and support on here a lot more would die. None of my birds are sold, just the eggs for hatching. That stops today. Double dosage of the poorliest starts today with the antibiotics I have left and flockwide as soon as I can get to the vet for more. I am really glad there are guys like you out there, taking time to help and advise people like me. Thank you all xxx

Hi all :) I am going to pick up a blue today from a farm nearby that doesn't want her because she doesn't lay eggs. She is 1 years old and looks to be healthy. Just wondering what do you all think I should look for. The egg laying doesn't bother me because I just in general love silkies. I read that sometimes they don't lay eggs for a long time. Here is a picture of her.

My only advice would be to make sure you quarantine her, sometimes lack of or low egg production can be a sign of illness . It could also be a sign of broodiness or molting, but just to be safe set a pen up in the garage or somewhere away from your other birds.

could the fact she's not laying eggs indicate some sort of health problem that could be contagious? If you do take her, I recommend strict quarantine. Wash hands before and after each time you go in or out with either group of birds. Don't wear the same clothes while caring for the two groups of birds I recommend booties to cover your feet when dealing with either group of birds (just to be extra careful)
