I think she is blue partridge, her down is blue. This more recent hatch I have, all the partridge babies look different, so Im interested to see how they turn out. My camera makes her look a little more red/ orange than she is.what kind of partridge is that? I think these that I hatched are two different kinds of partridge, none red like that though.
It does look like a splash. I have one that was a smokey color like that, and is now showing a pretty light blue in coloring, with a bit of darker blue coming in. That smoky color had me wondering until I talked with the breeder. She knew right away..says, it will be a light splash. Very pretty.
My splash was white until about a month old..but "she" does look almost identical to what my splash looked like when she was older..were both parents blue?? If not she may be a paint? Splash only results from a blue x blue
This is my man Romeo, funny thing yesterday morning while we were feeding, I was in the garage getting feed ready for the chickens when DH started yelling for me, I pocked my head out to see what his problem was ( he never yells ) He said that Romeo had something around his neck and he couldn't catch him. So I walked out to the yard to catch Romeo ( not hard for me to do ) and I couldn't find anything, DH says " cant you see that blue thing"?![]()
I guess this was the first time he ever saw Romeo's ears....![]()
Ooo, nice! Congratulations!
