The first generation crossbreeding will not look very good. It will take several generations to get nice looking showgirls. The first generation looks mottly-feathered and actually quite unattractive. Sweet but unattractive. See if you can find a Show Girl thread or website to get better genetic counselling.

I have 3 roosters and a hen... I know not very good but they really never rip out feathers or draw blood but they are almost a year and are starting to be a little more mean. I'm getting a new hen soon hopefully an getting rid of one but does anyone know if it might end worse? I don't want one to die but I don't want to have to get rid of more than one. Do you think if I made a bigger run it would stop somewhat?

Space is a good equalizer, but now that your roos are of breeding age there is bound to be competition for the ' hen '. I have 2 roos in with 5 hens. I would rehome at least one of the boys and if at all possible bring in another 2-3 hens. The more the merrier! The other alternative is to create 2 pens with a pair in each.

These guys are almost 2 months old. I think I have a bunch of roos. excuse my awkward cochin roo

I think those adorable crows are both from boys. Although females can crow it's usually not until they are alpha in the flock and there's no roo. Of course, there is always the exception that young pullets crow but I don't think so when there is a roo in the flock.

Maybe others have input on this as I've never had more than one Silkie roo 3 years ago and only this year my 3-year Partridge hen started her silly alpha crow. I've never had a pullet crow (under one year old). When we had an alpha White Leg she never crowed in the 3 years we had her before re-homing her.

Love the fluffy feet on your Silkies! My girls have worn down their toe feathers from all the free-ranging they do so not quite as fluffy any more but they are so happy scratching around the yard!

We get a kick out of hearing the second one.
It'll sort itself out one way or the other in time.
We enjoy having them and as long as everyone is getting along enough to where no one suffers and the neighbors don't blow a fuse, then we can be patient.

I was looking closer at their feet as I put them up this evening and it is a funny sight.
I wish we could let them free range in our big back yard, but the presence of many hawks would make that a bad idea.

Yes we have! And that lady reminds me of my grandmother, except for the hat..lol..I remember her wearing dresses like that. She had quite the little farm going on her back property. Fowl. A lot of chickens, geese, duck..and the neighbors guinea were always over. Loved that lady. I picture this lady taking her newly bought chickens to her farm, not to the market...hmmm... :/
