Ok here is my current crush. Hatched on 3/17 and her coloring is so striking, it's been great to watch her grow out.this is her as a baby

And her today! That crest is too die for and she knows it! I was surprised that her crest color flipped to blue, and a striking white breast that fades to blues. Her name is Rita Hayworth.

Oh man! Soooo many beautiful fluffers in this thread! I have a pet quality flock of Silkies I've been keeping for about 2 years now. I've got a smutty buff roo, splash roo, birchen(?) cockerel, lavender hen (Nine Toes Nina... ^_^; always count your Silkie's toes when you buy!), white hen, one dark and two light partridge hens, porcelain(?) hen, and three blue hens that are quite nice quality... and a black Frizzle Cochin/Silkie hen (that I'm hoping to get some Frizzled Silkies from). I'm looking for a few more hens although my roos aren't really rough on the girls or anything. Just need to beef up the gene pool haha!

They have produced some interesting chicks so far... Here's some examples of ones I've kept to maturity before selling:

(featured in my avatar)
Salmon~ish maybe? His skin was too light and if I remember correctly, he had double claws on his fifth toes.

I've hatched two like him... not sure if you'd call him birchen or splash, or something completely different lol! The one I still have has much darker skin, but isn't quite as dark black.

Several have hatched out like this... totally not sure what to call them either! I wish all my roos had the lovely comb/wattle look of the first one!

And then there's this guy! He was also double clawed on the fifth toes, but had such an interesting mottling! I had hoped he'd turn out as a hen, but no such luck!

Anyway, other than that, I've gotten porcelain~ish creamy colored hens, partridge in light and dark, and more smutty buff, etc. Crossing my fingers that my new blue hens will produce some splash chicks. Speaking of chicks... I just hatched out about 16 (and counting) the past few days, and two are really piquing my interest... they have partridge striping, but the markings are veeeeeery light colored. I'm going to have to hang onto one to see how it feathers out!

It looks pretty dark right now but still wet. I can see some lighter looking feathers on its head and light feathers on the feet.

It's so dark out now I think I'll take them out in the morning when I can sit and watch her and make sure she excepts them. This little one has the vaulted skull.

Help Roo or Pullett? Zsa Zsa is 13 weeks old this Tuesday and was purchased as a pre-sexed pullett. BUT I am worried that she may be a Roo? Can anyone help me...

Yeah I'm thinking it's a hen! Has a very small cone, short wing feathers (doesn't go back to her butt) and looks like fairly short ankle feathers! Lets keep our fingers crossed!

It's crest seems pretty swept back. Are there streamer's coming out of the back of it's crest?
