Silkie thread!

HAVE ANY OF YOU SEEN WRY NECK IN A DAY OLD CHICK? I HAVE ONE THAT ONLY WANTS TO LOOK TO THE LEFT AND LOSES BALANCE. VERY ALERT, JUST OUT OF BALANCE. I GOT A LITTLE POLY VI SOL IN HER TONIGHT, SO I HOPE THAT HELPS. I WANT HER TO BE ABLE TO EAT. SORRY ABOUT THE OBNOXIOUS CAPS. :)

Yes , it usually means that the parent stock are lacking in essential vitamins and minerals . If you are seeing this now I would routinely add a poultry vit to the water. At least once a week, or change their diet.

I have a day and a half old chick that only turns her head to the left. She stands and looks left. She occasionally falls over. I have given her vitamins thinking wry neck. I havent seen her eat and I have put her beak in the water to show her how to drink. Ive never put a chick down, and honestly dont know how let alone think i could do it. Im leaving her under momma for now. She walks some her legs are fine, just sometimes loses balance. She is very alert and seems healthy otherwise. I would like to get some food into her.

Newbie here with a silkie question. I got a white silkie chick from a friend. I notice that the cone isn't correct but otherwise it looks like a silkie. Can a silkie have a regular cone? Either way, I can't complain it's cute and it's a present from a friend.

Anyone here have all girls and one rooster? Question is, would being the only rooster on the property make him less vocal? Or is it individual? I'm trying to convince my husband to let me get that beautiful porcelain pair I posted a few days ago. The coop is literally under our bedroom, living room, & kitchen window.

Yes silkies can have single combs. It's not up to breed standard. But will make a great pet :)
