Shipping this pretty little girl out in the morning!
I planted Kale in our garden and it grows very fast. I cut a 5 gallon bucket of the leaves every other day for my chickens. The kale keeps growing since I don't pull it up by the roots. The chickens love it and it's also very good for them. The Orps are the only ones that free range and they help themselves to it. They don't bother anything else in the garden either. Last year I did'nt plant kale and they would eat the flowers off the tomato plants. They really did a number on them. Now I know what to plant to make them leave the tomatos alone.Mine are also in a pen that has no grass, around the same age. I pick some for them a few times a day and through it in..they love it! No chemicals on my back yard either. Just make sure you have some gravel/grit for them. They should start liking treats like apples, melons, .. there are so many. Look up treats for chickens here on BYC. Mine also love sunflower seeds..when they get older. BOSS is what you will see how it is called on BYC sites. Black Sunflower Seed.
I thought so, too, and then saw that there was a picture posted on page 1405 of this thread of a hen colored almost exactly like this and they said it was a porcelain. I hatched out another chick colored just like this one from a egg marked porcelain, but I always thought they were more of a cream color.
I don't know if the number of Roo's has anything to do with it but I have 2 Silkie Roo's and I only get crowing in the morning and it is not very loud. I like thier crows better then LF Roo's cause its not so loud and my neighbors don't get upset about it. That would be a bad place for a coop, but we do what we must... lol
How did you breed this color pattern? I am in love! She looks like a Monarch butterfly.
omg! Gorgeous.Have you tried this gal? She shows, and does very well. She doesn't advertise, just sells by word/name. I will show you a couple of birds that I've hatched from you, but first, here is her fb page. https://www.facebook.com/RockRoadSilkies She doesn't do whites any more, but her silkies have great type like this.![]()

I was feeding am all flock from TSC but I noticed they were LOSING weight on it and seemed always starving, so I stopped. I cant find another all flock here in TH so I am feeding DUMOR complete pellet and worried it will be bad for my Roo's, and not so good for my chicks. I add a vit. sulp. to water for chicks. ????What to feed chick's and adukts.. same food?
I fed my flock.. all ages crumbles by purina. Well they had white Lil mites in it which freaked me out. Now I don't want to use it. I want a feed for chick's and adults? Tractor supply is where I get mine
