Silkie thread!

they are still youngins, from 7 weeks to 22 weeks, didn't think you could worm that early? and I didn't know about the Purina recall.

Bad enough. I had to bring Silkies and Seabrights in house till the water went down. and we have more rain on the way tonight and I guess up till next Tuesday. we are putting everything on legs this weekend but till then I have got some concrete blocks to raise them. just hope the silkies will climb a ramp that high. they climb the little one now but will be raising it another 4-5 inches..... :idunno and my Seabright house has got to be compleatly remade thanks to a play set falling over on top of it in the wind, that I didn't even know we had.

I would worm them . Valbazen will treat for all worms.

Our silkies climb a ramp up to about 2-3ft off the ground... We're supposed to get rain all week too, it looks cloudy outside, but where is the rain? I'lll take some of that rain from you so you won't have any more problems we actually haven't had rain for a few weeks now!
good to know they can, now just got to get my spoiled Romeo to do it... lol
If it was up to me I would be glad to share. We have got at least 1 day of rain all spring.

ok cool will do, do I have to get it from my vet or can I get it at TSC?

have a question about this chick. I bought from the same person I get all my silkies from, This is the only one in a group of 10 that has feathering like this. Would this be a smooth silkie/ sizzle ? she had said that there had been a sizzle in the pen at one time...

Yup, looks like a smooth silkie. I just sold one of my babies that was a smooth like this, and a sibling that was a sizzle (frizzle feathered). Interesting the variety you can get.

2 of my eggs are peeping.. my hen Lydia is sitting on them. But there is one tiny issue I'm concerned about.

I found out that my rooster who I got his sisters chick's have thrown a few crooked beaks. I'm worried about these chicks. Lydia isn't at all related to them luckily. Out of say a bunch of vhicks. Around 200 she's had 3 bad ones. All from her hens. And he had fathered a chick I have whose feet are curled in bad. But she's getting around fine.

I re homes rooster .. but if I had a rooster from her chick's would it be bad to breed the rooster to lydia.

Jeffers pet supplies . It's not labelled for chickens. Dosage is 1/2 cc standard and 1/4 cc bantams.

how many plants do you think I would need for 44 birds? I need something to help with nutrition. my birds free range and I am trying different feed cause the All Flock they were on was a waste of money. It did nothing for them at all and the LOST weight on it. and would it be too late to plant some this year?
I planted 2 rows that are about 15 ft long. Then a small flowerbed by one of my pens. I have more plants than what I need. I don't think it's too late to plant any because I planted the rows when it first warmed up and they are thriving like crazy. I cut a patch about 3 ft long to fill up a 5 gallon bucket. I have no idea how many chickens I have but I give each pen alot and they eat it right up. I think I have a couple packages of kale left. I'll have to look but if I do I can send a pack to you. It will be plenty to feed to your birds. I was buying bunches of it at Walmart the only place I could find it here. But at a buck a bundle it gets expensive.

It would probably cost more to send it then what I could buy it here for but thanks for the offer and the info. What kind of Kale do you have, cause I know there are different ones, like Purple Kale ect... ?
