LOLThank you, here's hoping she's going to be okay. I put a call into a vet 60 miles away waiting for her to call back now. She's been laying some huge eggs lately too, I've been saving them up if she is healthy she just might get those eggs under her yet.

Might be posting baby pics in a month instead of going to the Vet with a sick hen!
That's wonderful news.
Here's one to drive Fancy coo coo! "The rounder the egg! The more possibilities it will be a hen!"![]()

Oh my gosh! Lol! This picture is soooo adorable! Completely made my day. Lol... I still can't get over it, and it's a great picture. Gotta show the hubby (He lives on BYC vicariously through me).

I got them to actually look somewhat in my direction!
The 'baby' is in the top two pics and she is growing out to be a stunning girl! She could use more foot feathering, but she got that from her mother, who isn't very heavy on foot feathering either. The mother is the third pic. Love her round figure, and she is a natural poser.
I've had four in my little coop, the run area is 32x72" with a 32x 45" house attached, It was a bit tight for the run, sleeping quarters were just fine though. I Do let them out daily to range the yard, forage and get some excercise. If I had to keep them in there full time I'd only keep three in there. These small coops are hard even for silkies to spread their wings out and stretch.I am thinking about a couple of Silkie pullets. How much room do they need to live well? I have a small prefab coop and attached run that I am not using.
