Silkie thread!

splash is cause by 2 blue genes (0 is black, 1 is blue, 2 is splash), so breeding blue to blue gets you black, blue and splash. Blue x black gives you blue and black. Blue x splash gets you blue and splash. Splash x splash gives you all splash, but the color can get washed out.

Good evening everyone! I have a question. What is the average age for silkies to begin growing combs? I have one who is looking very different from the others and I'm a little confused!? The chick in question also has VERY feathery feet and umm knees or thighs? Haha while the others do not. She also has pink coming in on her comb and it's a little puffy. The others don't have this either. Any thoughts? Thanks!

My first thought was surprise!!! It's a boy!! Then it was it's a cross! Then it was maybe she's a different quality? She looks hot under all of those fluffy feathers. And very itchy!

I brought Johann in tonight to check him over because i thought i daw some dried blood near his face. After looking him over i saw mo injuries do think he must have gotten into mud or something and it dried on him. I noticed some oddities with his wings though (or at least they look odd to me). It looks like parts of his feathers have been broken off. Here are some pics. Any thoughts?

Looks more like his wings have been clipped.

I haven't clipped his wings and I don't think my cousin did before I got him but I've had him for almost a year so even if she had I would have thought they'd have grown out.
Thanks @Fancychooklady, I'll look into it. At least I don't have to worry about pulling eggs since he's a roo. :)
