What type of chick would you get if you mixed a sizzle with a silkie? I am asking because my silkie chick is growing curly feathers and at the farm that I got her from there were a bunch of different colored silkie hens mixed with a white rooster, and one of the hens was a sizzle.
Something like this, depending on the quality of the parents:What type of chick would you get if you mixed a sizzle with a silkie? So precious. Congratulations!Just pulled these out from under my broodies. Theres a lovely blue (hiding in the back), a black, a splash and what looks to be a blue partridge. The splash is a little odd too. It's more yellow, with some orange splotches and its got a very faint stripe running down its back. Usually my splash chicks are really light blue, or white with a blue cast.![]()
Do they have feathered legs and feet and 5 toes. They are going to be so cute. Pics, we need pics.I have babies a silkie rooster bred with one of my Barred Rock Bantam and they hatched the chicks are black. I can't wait till they grow I would be curious as to what they look like lol
I will take pics they just hatched today. I seen a little head pop out and the hen is setting on about 8 more eggs I think I do know there was a lot of eggs under the hens. The chicks are coal black. She is sharing the nest with one other hen both of them are taking turns getting up to eat. I have never seen chickens do that before. I have four barred rock bantam hens and our silkie rooster has been busy all four of them are nesting and there is a pair in each nestDo they have feathered legs and feet and 5 toes. That is sweet. I had 2 silkies broody and sharing the nest. One word of caution. My 2 broodies didn't take care of the chicks and just kept seeing who was going to set on eggs next. I took the babies away and finally had to break the two of them. They finally broke 5 days after I cleaned the nest of the unhatched eggs. I hope all goes better with yours. I have already moved them nest and all into my brooder room where it is warm and safe from things that may want to harm the little ones. I will keep eye on the hens if they show they are not taking care of the little ones I will take them. Thank youThat is sweet. I had 2 silkies broody and sharing the nest. One word of caution.
