Silkie thread!

This little chick has a porcelain mom & white dad. I'm guessing pullet & anxious to see how she matures. Not sure if she would be considered partridge?
I have some from a dark porc cock and white hen and they have look kind of like blue partridge. Some looked very much like your girl. Is the underfluff a light blue or lavender color? If so I have a few that look like her growing out as well. She's gorgeous!

Thanks tjo I might enter the photo in the calendar contest. Yes, adorkable she has lavender under feathers. I have never had one this color & can't wait to see her mature. The story behind this one is fun. I almost threw the egg three times & each time my intutition said to keep it awhile. I have learned to listen to that! My porcelain hens are last years chicks & I figured they were too young for my one rooster who has eight other hens. Then it went over due. It hatched the next day after the last time I was going to throw it. What a lovely surprise! I would love to see pictures of yours.

is there anyone in colorado springs, pueblo area that can foster a silkie rooster, silkie hen, two sizzles and two baby chicks for a while?????

due to my son's health problems we have to move and live with family for a while not able to bring our chickens with us. so we are trying to find people to look after them until we are able to get our own place. please please and thank you

I have 2 pure bred silkies with straight combs, it can happen. They have the bright blue earlobes, correct feathering and skin color. I think it shows up from time to time because white silkies were the only color then colored came later. We have 7 silkies at the moment 2 have straight combs, they cant be shown but they are still beautiful to me

I think they look like a dark blue and a splash to me.

What about his head fluff looks like a boy to you? I would say you probably can't sex them yet for about at least another 3-4 weeks ... some of them you can't tell until they either crow or lay an egg. Silkies are tricky lol.

They're very cute

Thank you! I think what I am seeing is one chick has a vaulted head and one does not after looking at your photos and comments. This is my first time owning chickens so I am learning something new every day.

I have one white roo with a straight comb, out of 10 silkies, his skin color is correct too.
