I hatched 4 of them that color I sold all but 1 chick I have 1 lavender hen
If it is lavender I'm gonna give it to a friend for her flock she been looking for lavender n her bday is coming up

There hard to find where I live I have only seen her for sale in 2 years decide the ones I hatched

I have asked before what ya'll thought my silkies were hen or rooster. I got mixed responses. They have grown a lot since than. I have 2 other chickens that are pullets Buff Orpington. They other day I swear I heard a crow come from the coop early in the am. If I did it had to be one of my silkies but I havent heard it again. Do you think this silkie is the roo?

@JKraft, it could very possibly be the culprit. That crest is swept back a good bit and the comb is pretty big. I have a couple that have crests, combs, and wattles very similar in size to yours. I hope mine aren't roosters.

We have the first one!!! These are Penedeseca eggs, we started with 4. Hope we get at least one more baby.

It's hard to tell if you have a hen or rooster until you either get an egg or don't. We thought Yeti(my avatar pic) was a rooster all the way up until we got the first egg.
