Silkie thread!

Its likely neurological. I have seen this in Silkies when they get a hard swift peck to the head. I have a juvenile that has a pretty bad bobble, on occasion when he takes a drink of water and lifts his head up, his head falls back and lays on his back. He will stay like that for quite a few seconds and then he is able to lift it back up. He wasn't always like that, I think an older hen of another breed jumped the fence once and got him good. I do my best to keep my Silkies separate from the other breeds, just incase things like this could happen. Im hoping next spring to have a fully enclosed Silkie pen.
I plan on keeping mine in a separate pen with my two hens that have leg problems because I heard they can sometimes have a hard time with other chickens. I managed to get a really good video of what he is doing.....
I would really like to know if it is something I should be worried about!! :(

Go ahead and PM @Fancychooklady

She's raised Silkies for years and for show -- have her take a look at your video. She is very knowledgeable about these little Teddy Bear chickens!

I had a Silkie rooster who absolutely HATED all Silkies- male or female, he was horrible--but put him in a flock with hard feathered birds and he was a sweetie with them, and they with him. Plus, while pure-he could easily fly to a high roost--I've never had a Silkie able to get up that high, over my head easily.

Today Im going to start building a new Silkie coop for all my girls. They are currently in a small coop that I don't love so I will be building them a new one with nesting boxes and the main thing I want to add is a low roosting pole because a few of them love to roost. Im excited to get started.

Awesome, I'm sure they'll love that. 1/3 of mine roost, the others sleep in the dirt. :idunno the roost is no more than 1/2 foot high.

My one silkie hen got grabbed by an iguana today, luckily is still small and only bruised her leg she limps a bit but is fine. I was convinced I had lost her but she is tougher than I thought, the vet came to check on her and said I must keep an eye on her for the next few days.
