Silkie thread!

Hi,
I have a question. I am including pics of one of my silkies I believed to be a pullet.(at least I hoped so)
I now am not sure. Looking at the top it looks like she/he may be growing the top and hackle feathers.
She/he is 11 weeks, so I assumed that the feathers were all in and I could count on the rest of this hatch to be girls!! Reason I say this is because we already had the 2 roosters out of the bunch start to crow about 3 weeks ago, and we separated them to another coop.
Anyone have any idea if I am right or wrong in assuming it's a she?

I need to add that in order to really see the picture well you may need to click on it so it comes in larger. This is where you will see the white tips I am looking at and wondering about.

yea selling you a sexed silkie chick was a no no, I am not familiar with the porcelain color but I am sure it is a possibility. What color was the chick when you got it and does he have any white silkies? It is always a good idea to research you breeder before you purchase and check out their breeding stock.

His down feathers did look porcelain, with a mixture of cream and buff. The mother hen he showed me was a porcelain, but like I said, I don't know anything about how to breed silkies. I just thought somebody who knows a lot about how the different combinations produce porcelains would know if there was a risk of having some turn out white.

And you're right about researching the breeder. My silkie was an impulse buy when I had gone to pick up three pullets of a different breed I had previously arranged to purchase. (I'm sure nobody else has that problem -- coming home with more chicks than you'd planned to buy?

hehe ).

Anyway, thanks. He's my little buddy now and a keeper, no matter what I was told he would be 6 months ago. I was just curious if somebody with silkie breeding knowledge already knew the answer.

Ok super weird question but I have a silkie rooster and an Easter Egger. We had more but they sadly died for various reasons. Anyways, I've never seen our rooster mate with the Easter Egger ever. He's almost 2 years old! We want to get more again but my question is...does he prefer silkie lady friends? I'm not looking to breed but want him to be happy lol.
