Same experience here a few days ago. I read the sign and asked what breed and the girl said Bantam and I replied what type of Bantam and she had no clue. At least I know what hatchery they came from. The poor girl knows nothing about chickens but this TSC is in the city so you are going to get citty helpers.

I just bought some hatching eggs so if they hatch I should have porcelians, whites and splashes.and I have a blue rooster.
Say I had a mixed pen of these colors what color chicks could I exspect?

Your blue to splash crossing will result in 50/50 blue and splash. White is unpredictable when crossed with any other colour, the porcelains could be nice with a dusting of blue.

Thank you, these are not bearded. Bearded silkies have ' muffs ' that can almost meet the crest and hence obscure their vision. The little splash roo that will be mated to them is bearded and much darker blue.

what is the difference between porcelains and whites? sorry new to the world of silkies.

I am not new to chickens in general but I am new to the "newer, fancier" colors. (forgive me if porcelain is not considered new or fancy).
But as I have been researching it porcelain also called blue cream by some, tho I see them as separate and Isabel are all similar.
(and forgive again if I'm incorrect and feel free to correct me as I'm still learning myself).
But to the best of my knowledge Isabel is a color darker than white, kinda creamy, dusty like very beautiful in my opinion, and porcelain is more of a pattern. Similar in color (shades can vary) but has more lavender to the tail, wings and head/neck. And then blue cream in my opinion is diffent from pocelisn b/c a good propped porcelain should have a slight mottled look to the feathers where as blue cream does not. Blue cream to me is a split between a dilute buff and lavender in color. Body usually cream and head and tail in lavender.
Again if anyone is more familiar with these colors and I'm way off track, corre t me... I need and want to learn.

​Yeah. Not to offend anyone but sometimes the people at tractor supply are dopes xD you are correct there isn't a specific breed named bantam they are a type of chicken like a sub category. Also the sign won't say that they are silkies due to the fact that the bar code they have for the silkies and other bantams is under bantam.

Based on your pics yes they look silkie to me. 5 toes, black dark legs and skin under the down and the blue beak.
