Silkie thread!

Are silkies born the same color that they will be when they mature?

Just curious

I have nesting boxes off about 2 ft off the ground, I have 6 nesting boxes 3 on ground 3 on top. I was wondering if the average silkies could hop on to the top ones without a ramp?

With all my breeds I've provided both a ramp and at least an 8-inch walking ledge in front of top-positioned nestboxes. Some owners provide perches in front of their nestboxes for the hens to hop/fly up to but I personally prefer a walking

sidewalk-ledge in front of a row of raised nestboxes ever since I've had Silkies.

Hello I wen to tractor supply to get silkies and they had them but they didn't have the right sign for them so I asked if they knew and they and my mom are telling me the breed of the chicks are called bantams and I kept saying that heh looked like silkies and everything they even had older ones that had like u know those silkies wing feathers like and so my parents wouldn't let me get them so I am pretty mad about that and I even told them there was no such breed called bantams
