Hi everyone I have recently obtained a black silkie roo.

Will silkies naturally puff out when they get wet? Since they don't have the same feathers as other hens, I feel like it would soak right through em' and they could catch a cold, but then again, they are a chicken and they should have some of the genes as a wild hen, right? (I am getting silkies on the 16th of march)

Silkies should not be left out in wet weather, if they are drenched to the bone they are inclined to become very sick. They don't have a feather shaft like other chickens and that decreases their ability to be water resistant.
Always give them a covered area that they can shelter under.
