Silkie thread!

We had some gorgeous weather the past couple of days, the Silkies were really enjoying the warmth and sunshine! Here's a few pictures I snapped while I was hanging out with them

(I have no clue what that black thing is she's accessorizing with, she's always dirty

This girl doesn't have a name yet. She doesn't have the biggest crest, but she's got the craziest feathered legs I've ever seen and she's as round as a basketball!

Some babies that hatched on the 1st of January, and Myrtle (smooth Sizzle) in the back on the left.

i was under the impression (something i read someplace!) that US has only the smaller size and UK has standard size silkies...i don't know of course for absolute. AND i don't know why that would be either.

I have a Great show quality white Cockerel and a black Silkie hen. What is the outcome of a white Silkie male crossed with black hen?

I had a white male over a dark blue hen and got pure white, light buffs, and paints. As others have stated, the whites hide many genes so it's a surprise as to what you will get. Try it! It's worth finding out.
