Red clay.... North Carolina or further south?

In in nc and we red dirt I can't keep my white horse white. Lol he like to be red!!!

He is an American Indian pony (14hh) reverse varnish palomino appaloosa. But you can't see his spots in the winter with his winter coat! He's my boy!!!

I had the same problem last fall and I had to scoot them in at night. After a while they did start going in by themselves. Mine roost on boxes on the floor with the sultuns and they are always in the same spot even though I have other boxes for them. Still waiting for eggs from the silkis. The sultuns lay small eggs still very useable.
 
Please explain the "Judges Hold"

Judges hold the bird with one hand between the legs , Palm up. By doing this they can rotate the bird to inspect it from various levels. If you intend showing it is best to start birds early with training this hold as if a bird is wrestles and won't be held the judge will simply put it back in the cage .

Further west actually! Foothills of Northern California. All the dirt is red clay, and with all this rain lately we've got a few rivers and lakes on the property - the stuff really holds water!
