Silkie thread!

I bought a partridge silky and a blue frizzle (both supposed to be about a year old) about a month ago. The blue frizzle has been laying eggs for 3 weeks, but the partridge has done nothing.
These are the only silkies I've had, so I'm wondering if there's something I don't know about with this hen?
Any tips?

Thanks!

I've had hens take awhile to start laying after they were purchased as adults. A breeder told me to try giving them buttermilk but all I had on hand was whole milk yogurt, I figured I had nothing to loose so I gave it to them and two days later I had eggs!! I don't know if it was a coincidence but I definitely think it's worth a try now.

I'll try it!

Use the Greek yogurt which has a higher protein gram count - read the label difference between ordinary plain store yogurt and the Greek-style yogurt labels to see the higher protein difference. My hens like the Trader Joe's 0-fat Greek yogurt. We scoop a heaping Tbsp and let our 4 hens take bites from the spoon. It's funny to watch - a little like watching a dog eating peanut butter as it sticks to the inside of the mouth. I don't offer more than a big Tbsp at one time so the expensive stuff doesn't sit in a feed bowl going to waste.

Yes! I had organic vanilla Greek yogurt and they gobbled it up!

It was suggested that I post this question here on my thread. Any chance you lovely folks can guess the gender of this Silkie? 8 months old and I haven't caught him/her laying or crowing. Ignore the chicken poop in the pics - I cleaned it out after I took them.

We tried the vanilla Greek once but it was too liquidy and wouldn't stick to the Tbsp. The Trader Joe's 0-fat Greek sticks to the Tbsp better so that the hens can take more solid bites from the spoon. But I'm sure any Greek yogurt not flavored with sugar or corn syrup and has the active bacillus will do fine.
