Silkie thread!

Thank you so much! I'm confused about streamers.. I think it's just where they are starting to grow out their feathers?

No problem. Just keep in mind I could be wrong. Haha you can never be sure until they crow or lay an egg but she just looks like a hen to me. I myself am not really 100% on the whole streamer term. Keep in mind because "she's" so young still it could definitely be feathers still coming in.

Streamers are the long feathers that come off the back of a rooster's head. They are very distinctive from the hackles. Makes them look like they are auditioning for the cover of a romance novel.

I looked through my pictures and this one of Ashes shows his really well. He's about 6 months old in this.

Sorry, looking through all the pictures and had to share this one because it just still says "Silkie Gothic" to me. All Ashes and Bulma need is a pitchfork and a house in the background

I'm having trouble with my eggs hatching some start to zip then give up and die, I'm a wreck trying to figure out when to help and failing, just lost a beautiful paint today and I'm heart sick. Had six growing good five still in the incubator day 23 none of the others making a peep. The temps and humidity all good this happened to the sitting hens to. I never had this problem in the past they hatched good. Anybody else deal with this? The only thing I can think of is vitamin deficiency?

It's heart breaking to see them quit so close to hatch, are these your eggs ? It can be a number of things , but might be your humidity. The other thing that comes to mind is CRD carrying parent stock .

Thank you Fancychooklady!! Yes as soon as.I saw the soft shelled eggs all the terrible things that could happen ran thru my head. I've been keeping a very close eye on her for any changes in her personality. I wormed them with the wazine at the end of January, then I ended up in the hospital and didn't grt to worm them a second time. Should I just worm them once more, or should I start over?

Oh I hope you are better now. Yes you would be better to start your worming program again.
Remember wazine only treats for round worm.
