I have 8 baby silkies hatch yesterday and I have two that have me stumped. I am not sure what hen was their mom but I do know that their dad was a Dark Blue colour. Any idea what colour you would call this little one?

Do you have any blue hens, if so it s likely to be splash.

So dad was blue. What color was the mother? Other than that I'd say most likely a very leaky blue. I got that crossing a partridge rooster to a splash hen.

Oh yeah. I was hoping and then the Sizzle started getting waddles - maybe she is just maturing?...

Dad is a blue and mom was either a brigjt red hen, white with black tail and wings hen, black or silver. I know so far every chick from the red hen has has a golden res face or was really red with the strips so this chick has me so confused. Sadly I can't keep him to grow him out.

Dad is a dark blue the only hens I had was silver, red, black and a white hen with black tail and tipped wings

hello, I'm 20 years old next Monday, we just moved into the country my junior year of high school and I'm going to be getting my very first chickens soon- my grandmother is going to buy me a silkie chick! there are several breeders in my area, any tips???
