Silkie thread!

I have mystery silkies I guess. Haha
I've never even heard of spotted buffs. Can't wait to see how it gets its feathers in over the next could weeks

I don't care all that much what they end up looking like they're all gorgeous to me as long as they are female. :D

Lol yes they make the most amazing pets. Just watching them feather out is exciting.

Alright, I'm looking for guesses as to whether Tootsie here is a roo or a hen. About 15ish weeks old. A few weeks ago I thought I saw streamers, but then the rest of the crest caught up and it's a mostly even crest again. As for behavior, I'm stumped. S/he's very sweet with me, but has attacked cats and big 7lb hens who aggressively approached his/her tiny bantam friend that s/he adopted. Is this protective roo behavior (I've never had a protective roo that didn't also see me as a threat, so I'm a little confused) or is it protective adoptive-mom behavior?

I meant to reply to your post, where are you located and how many silkies do you have for sale and what colors?

I have BBS that I will be hatching but I don't ship. We are considering getting NPIP if it is worth it but for now we just do local pick-up.

My little guy is still doing okay! Feel like he/she hasn't grown much but running around with the rest and wing feathers are coming in.

Question for all you other Willie owners out there. How long after a hen stops brooding (no eggs hatched) will she start laying again?
I ask because I got a hen who had just finished Brody when I got her. One more week and I will have had her a month. She hasn't laid a single egg for me yet

I have had mine take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months just depends on the hen and if they molt after it takes longer , just make sure u give her good food fresh water and extra vitamins, she will probably start soon :)
