Silkie thread!

10 weeks old. Pullet?? I hope!

Oh yes, I love how silkies think. Lay first egg at just under 32 weeks. Lay a few eggs them say "Meh. Let's go broody and hatch these nest eggs."

The little rat moved the fake eggs out of the nest box and in front of the door so she could look outside while sitting on them.

I am wondering, does a light eye make an otherwise nice bird pet quality? What if one had a pink comb? (seperate faults) I have two different roosters who are very nice, only one has a light eye color. The other has pink on his comb. I am wondering if this makes them not breeding quality.

I'm trying to learn what makes a quality silkie. Can a few of you please critique this boy for me. I hatched him in December. I thought he was a blue at first, I know he's a splash but does anyone else see the hint of gold in the hackles? I'm trying to figure out what boy to keep. FYI this guy I will not be keeping because he is on the nasty side.

Anyone looking for nice Silkie eggs for very reasonable let me know. I have lots of extras and don't want to throw them out!
OHH MEE. Oh how I want some!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been looking for affordable eggs/chicks for 2 weeks now with no luck.
Every place I have found they are charging insane amounts of money for them. What color are they?!?!

How many chicks would you consider too many for a broody Silkie to raise. Would time of year make a difference? We are in the 80's with fairly high humidity. Could she handle more if there was also a Brinsea (can't remember it's name) but the thing the chicks can run under to get warm.........

They would be light blue, dark blue, and/or partridge. I also have started chicks in white and blue.

How do I contact you about pricing, payment etc? Im interested in doing this. Silkies are so delightfully, incredibly ugly, but cute at the same time. I think I need a hundred of them in my back yard. However I don't think my wife would like it. however my 2 year old will love them.
