Been busy and just noticed that a picture didnt upload with my last post a few days ago. And now that people know I'm crazy, here's the missing picture.

Hmm - looks like she might have done it to help her see! I'd like to know how she manages to keep her beard clean.

Mine gets both the forehead and the beard stained green. Maybe she's going for the festive look - I should give her some raspberries to add some red. I'll have to go and take a pic.

Now here's my partridge. She still has some banded feathers on her wings (she was sold to me as a "cuckoo") and her neck feathers are reddish-straw coloured with black centres.

Definate female. Males don't color in the same.

Banding on wings is fairly normal for partridge as is the neck coloring.

I guessed she was a girl by looking at pics of male and female partridge Silkies. I like her colouring, from the neck feathers to the smokey grey "bloomers". I was worried for a while because she's bigger and heavier than the white one, but I'm starting to think the partridge is a month or two older than the white one. Now the white one is starting to "fill in" more, hopefully that means she'll catch up. Both of them are still getting a lot of new feathers everywhere.
