I have a Barred Rock Rooster that's huge. His hen was killed by a dog a few weeks ago. I don't know what to do with him.

I have a new small arrival and one big arrival. My Barred Rock Rooster and my Swedish Flower hen hatched one chick.

I also have a new Silkie chick.

I do know what that is like crawling into things for eggs

Grr, these pullets are frustrating me I can’t get them to use the nest boxes. I have been blocking the igloo so they can’t get in there. So now they are laying all over and covering them with wood shavings(is this normal), It’s just a matter of time before I step on one. I have fake eggs and golf balls in the boxes, put curtains up and took them down. I know they go in them and kick around because the eggs are moved and shavings kicked up but just don’t lay in there. Anyone have any suggestions.

I have no suggestions. You've already done everything that's worked for me

Mine use a rabbit nest box. It’s not dark at all. But it is in the corner away everyone on a shelf.

They may not like the material. Try taking it off and leave boxes open.
