I want to say that between a half and three-quarter inch thick, but then the chickens kind of fluff them up a bit as you can see from the photo. They are 13 x 13“ square. Seem to work nicely so far.

So do you keep the paper on them? I saw some reviews where people complained about them shredding, but I noticed you have paper on yours.

Yes you’re supposed to keep the paper on, it holds them together. Also supposed to ease in clean up when you need to toss them. I haven’t had them very long but so far they’re holding up quite nicely. I guess it depends on the individual chicken and how much they tear things up

I had one that looked very much like that as a chick and she feathered in completely white.
